Creating Unforgettable Characters Workshop:
I did a workshop on character last week sponsored by Scriptwriters/Houston
& Women In Film & Television , Houston. So, yes, it was in Houston.
A few complications occurred before the workshop ever happened, however!
On Tuesday, my rental car had a flat with NO spare.
That meant I had to have it towed back to the airport.
Then…
on Friday night someone broke into my car and stole my briefcase,
which had my workshop notes in it.
I’d given this particular seminar many times. So, I sat down, made some new notes
and gave the workshop on Saturday, as scheduled. Thankfully …. It went well !
Here are some of the responses to the seminar
(about 20-30 were in the class.)
What an INCREDIBLE workshop! You are such a GREAT teacher! I took 9, Count ‘em, 9 pages of notes! What an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience you have! The film clips were especially appropriate and helpful. Loved every minute of it. ESPECIALLY loved the dialogue section! It was VERY helpful! The “Raiders” section was particularly helpful and inspiring! You can certainly see this ain’t YOUR first Rodeo !! ~ Dr. Gary Moore ( 2nd Baptist Houston)
My name is Desirae. I was just in your Scriptwriting seminar. I just wanted to say you’re amazing and to thank you for coming to my school. You really helped me with my writer’s block. Thank you for your time, ~ Desirae Hoover
Linda: I want to thank you for the Saturday’s seminar. Not only did I enjoy it but much of what you said keeps popping into my mind as I start writing. It was the perfect time for me to learn exactly what you were teaching. I’m wearing out your book too! Good luck in all your future projects ~ Glen Gattenby
Just goes to show that everything doesn’t always go ‘as planned.’
But the show must still go on.
