This is the newest member of our family below. He’s 11 months old, part Maine Coon like Dexter was.
We have just been waiting to see when we were ready to get another cat and have been more actively searching for about the last month. He comes from a rescue shelter where one of the people who works their lives three doors away from us. The owner had allergies and had to give him up and she was clearly going through a push-pull because she couldn’t bear to leave the cat behind and think that he might be in a cage for a few days. When she met us, she began to feel much more comfortable about letting him go. We named him Tallinn after the major city in Estonia which is also the city where my grand piano comes from and where we visited for nine days in 2019.
Tallin is a very calm cat and is slowly adjusting to his new place. He purrs. He sometimes comes when called. We like him a lot and it is now changing to loving him. And I think he really likes us as well!
Our beloved Dexter (below).
Dear. Dr. Seger,
I saw on Amazon two book covers with similar titles but different covers: Jesus Rode a Donkey. The subtitles were different with one focusing on Democrat and one focusing on Republicans. Are the contents the same or totally different or is one an update of the other? Amazon did not provide the publication dates of each. I was raised a Democrat, but broke with the party when it became so proactive of abortion. Also, my research says Republicans give more of their own money to charity. Democrats, however, appear to want to give more of other people’s money to support social causes via government taxation (which I guess sounds like the Robin Hood technique.) I believe Jesus would smile more at those who give from their own personal assets, such as the widow who from her poverty. I’d like to read your book or books to consider how you think through whether Democrats’ or Republicans’ approach to helping the poor is consistent with Jesus’ teachings.
PS Your picture of Dexter looks so much like our Morris who lived 21 years. Very special.
Thanks for your comment. Dr. Seger said to look for the 5th edition, 2020. The 1st edition had the subtitle re Republicans. There are many changes in the 5th edition.
